American Traveler is seeking an experienced ED RN for a night shift travel assignment at a freestanding emergency department in Derby, KS, requiring at least 1 year of acute care ED experience and multiple certifications including TNCC.

Details

• Freestanding emergency department (FSED) setting in Derby, KS
• 52-bed unit with a staff of 134
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 13-week travel assignment
• Patient ratios average 3:1, with low acuity cases at 5:1; pediatric patients managed with team nursing
• Common procedures include IV starts, medication administration, procedural sedation, and pediatric care
• Alaris infusion pumps used on unit
• EMR: Meditech (experience preferred)
• Day and night shifts each staffed with 1 charge nurse, 4 nurses, 1 tech, 1 unit clerk, 1 physician, and 1 midlevel per pod

Requirements

• Active KS RN license or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of acute care hospital ED RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale, PALS, TNCC, and CPI (or accepted equivalent: SAMA, MAB, or ACPMA)
• ENPC certification preferred
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume ED environment required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• All certifications must be from AHA or ARC and must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
• Ideal candidates are adaptable, self-sufficient, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, diverse environment
• The team values quick learners who can work independently from day one
