Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro/Neurosurgical position at an academic medical center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg or telemetry experience with a neurology patient population.

Details

• Day shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Acute care inpatient neurological and neurosurgical unit (14 beds) and Brain Rescue Unit (12-bed Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center)
• Adult patient population including stroke, intracranial hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, spinal surgery, Parkinson's disease, MS, ALS, seizure disorders, and other brain or spinal conditions
• Epic EMR (preferred, not required)
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as needed per unit
• Availability call requirement: 2 (12-hour) shifts per 6-week schedule
• Orientation scheduled on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month

Requirements

• Active MD or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or telemetry acute care experience required
• Experience with neurology patients required
• Experience at a large hospital facility (500+ beds) required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides direct nursing care to adult neurological and neurosurgical inpatients, including stroke and complex neurological conditions
• Large academic medical center environment — strong candidates with relevant experience preferred
• Local candidates are accepted at the same bill rate
• Travel experience preferred but not required
