Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a travel contract at a large academic Level I Trauma Center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and proficiency with central lines, phlebotomy, and neonatal care skills.

Details

• Large short-term acute care academic medical center with over 1,500 staffed beds
• Neonatal ICU (NICU) unit
• Patient ratio of 1:2–4
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Block scheduling is not available
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active CT or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted, but must be active prior to start date)
• Current certifications: BLS and NRP
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
• Prior experience in a large Trauma Center setting required
• Proficiency with IVs, central lines, OG/NG feeds, and phlebotomy required
• No prior disciplinary actions or priors on nursing license
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel rate
• 1 professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former permanent staff of this health system must have been separated for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
• RTO of up to 7 days may be auto-approved; requests exceeding 7 days require facility approval
• Flu vaccine is required; declinations are not accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required; religious or medical exemptions are accepted
• Parking is available at a cost of approximately $125/month
