American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Surgical/Transplant unit position requiring acute care surgical floor experience and stepdown/PCU background, with transplant experience preferred.

Details

• Work in a hospital Surgical/Transplant unit (4W) that functions as a mixed med/surg and stepdown floor
• Patient population includes post-surgical kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant recipients, as well as pre-transplant patients undergoing inpatient evaluation
• Patients require close monitoring for infection, rejection, and timely medication delivery
• Nurses are assigned to either the med/surg or stepdown side depending on staffing availability and patient acuity
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or eNLC compact license) currently in hand
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum 1 year of acute care surgical floor experience required
• Stepdown/PCU experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• ENT and/or transplant experience preferred
• Preceptor and charge nurse experience preferred
• OR candidates will not be considered — acute care surgical floor background required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include managing an assigned patient group, monitoring physiological data, administering medications, managing IV infusions and blood products, and coordinating care with physicians and support staff
• When ICU nurses float to the unit, they are assigned stepdown patients based on acuity and skill set
• BSN is preferred but not required
• Previous travelers or workers who have completed a 26-week total assignment must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a new contract at this facility
• Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) is strictly enforced — non-compliance may result in contract cancellation
