Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical position in an acute care hospital setting in Alaska, requiring a minimum of 3 years of Med/Surg experience and an active AK RN license.

Details

• 8-week contract in an acute care Medical/Surgical unit
• 31-bed Med/Surg unit
• 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• EMR: Epic (required); Medication Dispensing System: Pyxis
• Additional equipment used includes Meditech and OBIX
• No floating to other units or departments
• Local candidates are accepted

Requirements

• Active Alaska (AK) RN license required
• Minimum 3 years of Med/Surg experience required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, NIHSS, PEARS, and AED
• COVID vaccination or signed declination form required — unvaccinated staff must wear masks while on site
• Strong critical thinking skills required

Additional Information

• Provides individualized, goal-directed nursing care using the nursing process and principles of primary nursing in accordance with hospital policies and standards of practice
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Orientation includes 3-day Meditech and OBIX training plus unit-specific orientation; all modules must be completed prior to start
• A medication competency test must be completed within the first two weeks on site
• Travelers with any previous employment at this facility must disclose it for a do-not-return (DNU) eligibility check
