American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Medical unit position in Oklahoma City, OK, requiring active RN licensure and at least one year of nursing experience.

• Hospital-based Pediatric Medical unit
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Proficiency in organizing, planning, and evaluating nursing care
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
• Full date of birth (DOB) required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides nursing care to pediatric patients with health problems ranging in complexity
• Responsible for documenting patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
• Administers medications and manages IV infusions and blood products
• Assists physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Monitors and interprets physiological data, intervening as necessary
• Delegates tasks to support staff and coordinates with interdisciplinary team members
• Educates patients and families on care plans and hospital procedures at admission and discharge
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• Workers who have previously completed a contract at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a new contract
• Compliance with all onboarding requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) must begin immediately upon acceptance of an offer — compliance deadlines are firm and non-negotiable
