American Traveler is hiring an LVN/LPN for a Behavioral Health unit, requiring a CA LVN license, BLS, and a crisis prevention certification for night shift coverage in an inpatient psychiatric setting.

Details

• Inpatient behavioral health/psychiatric unit
• Adult patient population including diagnoses such as ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Eating Disorders, PTSD, Anxiety Disorder, Depression, Major Depressive Disorder, Psychotic Disorder, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder
• Adult medical complexities include Substance Abuse Disorder, Alcohol or Opiate Withdrawal, Hypertension, Diabetes, geriatric high-fall-risk patients, patients in pain, and occasional wound care
• Uses ObservSmart for electronic patient rounding and Rover device for capturing photos, entering vital signs, and tracking food intake
• Night shift, 5x8-hour shifts, 23:00–07:30

Requirements

• Current CA LVN license required (license required if applicable)
• Current BLS certification required
• One of the following crisis prevention/de-escalation certifications required: CPI, ProAct, PMAB, MOAB, or Handle with Care
• Minimum 2 years of LVN/LPN experience required
• Recent inpatient psychiatric experience preferred
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
• Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration

Additional Information

• Recent inpatient psychiatric experience is preferred; the manager is seeking experienced travelers for this role
• Former employees of this facility must have been away for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No RTO will be approved for this assignment; only 1 holiday RTO request may be approved
• Candidates must be available for lab work within 3–5 days of signing their contract
