American Traveler is hiring a travel CVOR RN Educator for an inpatient acute care setting, requiring at least 3–5 years of scrub and circulator experience and a minimum of one prior travel assignment.

Details

• Inpatient acute care hospital CVOR setting
• Large cardiovascular program performing transplants, VADs, heart failure, aortic, robotic, and potentially congenital heart surgeries
• Role functions as a CVOR RN Educator
• Day shift schedule, Monday–Friday, 5x8-hour shifts primarily from 06:30–14:30; occasional shifts may begin at 06:00 or 06:15
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active DC RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on scrub and circulator experience in cardiovascular OR
• At least 2 years of recent CVOR experience within the last 7 years required
• Minimum of one completed travel nursing assignment required
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• AORN membership preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills required
• Experience developing competencies and applying nursing education standards required
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience within the past 3 years
• Driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assessing educational needs, identifying performance gaps, developing and implementing targeted training programs, and evaluating learner performance
• Additional duties include facilitating personalized instruction, providing clinical supervision, delivering constructive feedback, and integrating cultural competence into curriculum design
• Maintains and improves nursing curricula using knowledge gained through clinical practice
• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements including DPH, TJC, and OSHA standards
• Nurses with previous MedStar employment must have been separated for a minimum of one year before returning as a traveler
• Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility may be considered as local candidates; a driver's license must be provided and the address on file must match
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; RTO must be submitted at the time of consideration and cannot exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
