American Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology Infusion RN with chemotherapy certification for a role requiring float coverage across multiple hospital locations.

Details

• Work in the Oncology infusion setting, floating between multiple hospital locations as needed
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 8:00am to 4:30pm
• No weekend requirements
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Epic/Excellian charting system
• Responsibilities include IV therapy and infusions, port access and management, central line and PICC line care, and administration of blood products and coagulation factors
• Chemotherapy responsibilities include administration, continuous infusion, IV push administration, monitoring, and management of cytotoxic spills
• Provides care for patients with a variety of cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, leukemia, lymphoma, and other oncologic conditions
• Manages treatment side effects and oncologic emergencies such as anaphylaxis and extravasation injury

Requirements

• Active or pending MN RN license required
• Current BLS and Chemotherapy (ONS/ONCC) certification required
• OCN certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience in oncology infusion specialty required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Isolation precautions/PPE and neutropenic precautions knowledge required
• Phlebotomy skills required

Additional Information

• Facility is a Magnet-designated, teaching hospital with Level III Trauma status
• Candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered, with no exceptions for local candidates in this specialty
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Candidates must be gone at least 3 months since their last shift worked as permanent staff or per diem to be eligible for return
• RTO should ideally not exceed 5 days during the assignment
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Float coverage may be required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals to meet facility needs
• Open to accommodating block scheduling
