Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy Lab position requiring ACLS certification, strong IV skills, and the ability to support Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) cases in addition to standard endoscopy procedures.

Details

• Hospital-based GI/Endoscopy Lab setting
• Patient volume averages approximately 25 patients per day, with a mix of roughly 75% outpatient and 25% inpatient cases
• Supports Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) sessions approximately 3 times per week in addition to standard GI endoscopy procedures
• Nurses are involved in pre-op, intra-op (primarily timeout and documentation), and post-op phases of care
• 10-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• 40 hours per week
• Weekend coverage is handled through on-call scheduling (10-hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday)
• Holiday coverage is handled through on-call scheduling
• On-call required 3 times per month, 2–3 times per week; call runs from 5:00 PM to the following day at 6:30 AM
• Weekday on-call is self-scheduled and limited to 2 hours (Monday–Friday)
• No floating required
• EMR: Epic (Endoscopy Navigator) and Provation

Requirements

• Active VA or Compact RN license required
• Current AHA BLS certification required
• Current ACLS certification required
• PALS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of GI/Endoscopy RN experience required
• Strong IV skills required
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include pre-op, intra-op (timeout and documentation), and post-op care for both GI endoscopy and ECT patients
• One-week unit orientation provided
• Scrub color requirement: navy blue pants with solid navy blue or solid white tops; jackets must be solid navy blue or solid white (maroon scrubs also in use on unit)
