American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Telemetry position in an IMC Cardiovascular unit, requiring at least 1 year of related nursing experience and active BLS and ACLS certifications.

Details

• Located in an Intermediate Care (IMC) Cardiovascular unit — not a stepdown unit
• Patient population consists of cardiac and telemetry patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1–6:1 depending on staffing
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• 13-week contract with potential for temp-to-perm conversion

Requirements

• Active RN license in Louisiana or a compact state currently in hand
• Current BLS certification from the AHA required
• Current ACLS certification from the AHA required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty
• SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides nursing care utilizing the full nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned patients
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers
• All newly hired RNs must attend New Nurse Orientation within the first 30 days
• New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member with competency validation completed at the bedside
• BSN preferred but not required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates — local candidates are not accepted unless the position explicitly states otherwise
