Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist for a Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) position requiring a VA RN license and a minimum of 2 years of recent scrub experience in complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures.

Details

• Hospital-based Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) setting
• Scheduled shift: Monday through Thursday, 7:00 PM – 5:30 AM (10-hour shifts, 40 hours/week)
• Complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases including CABG, ascending aortic aneurysms, valve repair and replacement, structural heart procedures (TAVR, MitraClip), heart and lung transplants, ECMO, and ventricular assist devices
• Redo and emergent cases are included in the case mix
• Adult scrub experience required; pediatric scrub experience is a plus
• On-call required approximately after each scheduled shift from 5:30 AM to 6:30 AM
• Facility has numerous active research protocols ongoing
• Free on-site parking available

Requirements

• VA or Compact RN license required — no exceptions
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification and state registration required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent scrub experience in complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery required
• Strong critical thinking skills and ability to multitask in a high-acuity surgical environment
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team

Additional Information

• Coverage is required for one summer holiday (Memorial Day, 4th of July, or Labor Day) and one winter holiday (Thanksgiving or Christmas) based on department need
• Any requested time off must be added to the end of the contract to ensure a full 13 working weeks are completed
• Participates in professional activities within the department
• Overtime may be required as needed
