American Traveler is seeking an experienced Pediatric OR Circulator RN for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level 3 Pediatric Hospital in Austin, TX, requiring a TX or compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of experience.

Details

• Pediatric surgical unit with 3 ORs and 2 Endoscopy/Procedure Rooms, plus 14 Pre-Op/Recovery and 13 PACU beds
• Level 3 Trauma Pediatric Hospital
• All surgical procedures performed excluding cardiovascular and neurosurgery
• Anesthesia (MD and CRNA) available 24/7 for support
• Day shift: 06:30–15:00
• 13-week contract
• Cerner EMR used; experience preferred but not required
• Holiday coverage required on a shared basis
• Scrubs are provided by the facility

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required (AHA-issued only)
• Current PALS certification required (AHA-issued only)
• Minimum 2 years of OR circulator experience required
• Pediatric surgical nursing experience strongly preferred
• Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a valid US home address
• Driver's License required for consideration
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include performing circulating functions: monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition, and managing overall nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures
• Directly assists the operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure, and patient positioning
• Prepares operating rooms and ensures surgical instruments and equipment are ready for use
• Orientation period consists of 3–5 shifts
• Candidates who reside within the facility's local radius may be eligible to apply but may qualify for a different pay rate
