American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a float position covering the ICU and ED at a hospital in Washington State, requiring a minimum of 3 years of RN experience and day shift availability.

• Float position covering both the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Emergency Department (ED)
• Acute care hospital setting
• Day shift schedule
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active WA State RN license or compact license currently in hand
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
• Current BLS certification (AHA Healthcare Provider level) required
• ACLS certification required or must be obtained within 6 months
• PALS certification required or must be obtained within 12 months
• TNCC certification required or must be obtained within 12 months
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• ICU and/or ED nursing experience required
• Ability to perform CPR and lift/carry up to 300 lbs with assistance
• Ability to stand, walk, and manage equipment for 8–12 hour shifts

Additional Information

• Float role requires proficiency in both ICU and ED patient care settings
• May be required to function as Charge Nurse, including patient assignment delegation and coordinating staff coverage
• PEARS certification and moderate sedation training to be completed within 12 months of start
• RN-C (ICU) and CEN (ED) certifications are preferred but not required
• Total Joint Program orientation and annual training requirements apply to the ICU role
• Up to 24 hours of call-off may be utilized by the facility across the assignment at no cost to the traveler
