Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR RN for a 13-week travel contract in Colorado, requiring open heart and/or endovascular experience and on-call availability.

Details

• Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) within a 16-suite OR department, including 3 dedicated CVOR suites
• Common cases include open heart surgery, TAVR, open/endovascular procedures, and thoracic cases
• Averages approximately 30 cases per day, including 1–2 open heart cases daily
• 8 OR techs support the CVOR team
• RNs are required to scrub in to hold the heart and assist with chest closure
• Charting performed in Epic (experience required)
• 12-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM (shift negotiable)
• On-call required one weekday per week and one weekend per month (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), rotating with staff
• 30-minute call response time required; an on-site call room is available for staff who choose to stay nearby
• Floating to General OR when no CVOR cases are scheduled; in cases of high need, may float within the local hospital zone
• 13-week contract, 36 hours per week

Requirements

• Active CO RN license or Compact (NLC) RN license currently in hand — pending licenses not accepted
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Open heart and/or endovascular OR experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility — a valid driver's license is required to verify permanent address
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
• Copy of valid driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year; candidates placed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
• One week of unit-specific orientation provided; clinicians must be on-site in the state for the full orientation week, even if initial modules are completed remotely
• Hospital-provided scrubs (light blue) required
• Holiday coverage is not required but is preferred if the clinician is available
• Travelers are expected to float within the zone they are hired into and must secure housing that allows them to meet this floating requirement
