American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Surgical ICU (CVSICU) position requiring dedicated open-heart unit experience and proficiency with advanced cardiac monitoring and support equipment.

Details

• Work in an 18-bed Cardiovascular Surgical ICU (CVSICU) at a large academic medical center (500+ bed facility)
• Patient population includes post-cardiac surgery, cardiac transplantation, lung transplantation, ventricular assist device placement, and other complex cardiac and thoracic procedures
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2
• Rotating AM/PM shift schedule (7A/7P rotation), with straight PM shifts also considered
• 12-hour shifts
• Epic EMR (preferred, not required)

Requirements

• Active MD or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Critical Care Certification preferred
• Experience in a dedicated open-heart unit with direct OR patient recovery required
• Current experience with post-op cardiac surgery recovery in an ICU setting required
• Proficiency with ventilators, CRRT, Swan-Ganz catheters, epicardial wires/pacemakers, vasoactive drip titration, Level 1 IABP, and ECMO required
• Experience at a 500+ bed facility required
• One professional reference required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides complex post-operative nursing care to cardiac and thoracic surgical patients recovering from open-heart surgery, transplantation, and VAD placement
• Orientation is scheduled on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month
• Local candidates are accepted at the same bill rate
• 13-week contract
