Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position at a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital in North Carolina, requiring a minimum of 2 years of PCU experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting with 733 staffed beds, designated as a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital
• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with a patient ratio of 1:4–5
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including potential float to sister campus
• No on-call requirements
• Charting via Epic (experience required)

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license currently in hand — pending licenses not accepted
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of PCU or relevant RN experience required
• Must pass an EKG exam — no exceptions
• Epic EMR experience required
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the main campus to be eligible for this position
• Travel pairs are not accepted for this unit
• Royal blue and white scrubs required
• Pre-start orientation modules must be completed before the assignment begins (approximately 4–10 hours)
• RTO is subject to manager's discretion, with a general guideline of up to 4 days per contract
• Only one holiday accommodation can be approved per contract
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must have been gone for at least 1 year before returning in a travel capacity
• Night shift travelers may extend up to twice before needing to be away for a minimum of 6 months before returning
