American Traveler is hiring a Certified Surgical Technologist for a CVOR/OR position requiring at least 2 years of Level 1 or 2 trauma OR experience and proficiency across multiple surgical specialties.

Details

• Work in the Surgical Services department of a hospital setting with 12 ORs, 20 Pre-Op bays, and 14 PACU bays
• Surgical patient population including Urology, Neuro, Ortho, Robotic, General, Podiatry, and ENT cases
• Patient ratios: OR 1:1; Pre-Op 1:2; PACU Phase I 1:1 or 1:2 based on acuity; PACU Phase II 1:2-3
• 12-hour variable shifts, 40 hours per week
• Weekend rotation approximately every 3rd weekend
• On-call requirements include one overnight per week (7p–7a) and every 3rd weekend (Fri 1500–Mon 0700); 15-minute response time required
• Holiday coverage required for 2 out of 4 major holidays
• May float to Central Sterile Processing as needed
• EMR: Epic

Requirements

• Active SD RN license or Compact license currently in hand
• Required certifications: BLS; CST-NBSTSA preferred for CST role
• SFA candidates must hold one of the following: CSFA (NBSTSA or NCCSA), SA-C, CSA, or CRNFA (ASBA)
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma setting
• Proficiency in Neuro, Ortho, ENT, Trauma, and Robotics required
• Da Vinci XI and craniotomy experience required for trauma cases
• CST candidates: Associate degree in a healthcare-related field or graduation from an accredited surgical tech program (not required if nationally certified)
• SFA candidates: Associate degree in a healthcare-related field
• 2 references dated within the past year required for consideration
• DOB and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Surgical team includes RN/First Assist/Surgical Tech, Nurse Clinician, CRN, Service Line Leads, HUC, Scheduler, Preference Card Analyst, OR Techs, and Anesthesia
• Orientation is approximately 1 week
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Free parking is available on site
• Pre-approved RTO: July 30 and 31
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 1 full year before returning as a traveler
