Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a Level 1 Trauma facility in Cook County, IL, requiring the ability to both scrub and circulate across multiple surgical specialties.

Details

• Operating Room setting within a Level 1 Trauma hospital
• Required surgical specialties: Orthopedics, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery
• Preferred surgical specialties: Neurosurgery (cranial and spine), Open Heart/Thoracic, Ophthalmology, ENT, Bariatric, and Gynecology
• Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• On-call required: one 12-hour shift per month on a Saturday or Sunday (7A–7P or 7P–7A); no weekday call
• Floating to other Cook County facilities may be required, up to 50 miles from the home facility, with as little as 2 hours' notice

Requirements

• Active IL RN license (no pending licenses accepted)
• Current BLS certification required
• Level 1 Trauma OR experience required
• Must be proficient in both scrubbing and circulating
• Minimum 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years
• Proof of COVID vaccination required; no exceptions

Additional Information

• RTO is limited to 5 days maximum per contract, with no more than 2 consecutive days off at a time
• RTO on weekends will not be approved
• No RTO on holidays or the day immediately before or after a holiday
• No block scheduling or special scheduling requests will be accommodated
• Local candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are preferred and encouraged to apply
• If floated outside of primary surgical competency, a team-based care model will be utilized
