American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for an Outpatient IV Therapy/Infusion position in South Portland, ME, requiring chemotherapy/immunotherapy administration experience and an active ONS/ONCC certification.

Details

• Outpatient infusion center setting (not vascular access)
• 21-chair infusion unit with an average daily census of 46 patients
• Patient population consists of outpatients receiving infusion treatments of varying lengths, types, and acuity levels
• Patient ratios range from 1:7 to 1:9 depending on treatment type and acuity
• Monday–Friday day shift, 7:45 AM–4:30 PM, with no weekend or holiday hours
• No on-call or float requirements
• Epic EMR in use
• IV pumps are the primary equipment used

Requirements

• Active RN license valid in Maine (ME RN license or Compact license required)
• Active ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Experience administering chemotherapy and/or immunotherapy in an outpatient infusion setting required
• Proficiency in peripheral IV insertion, central line care, medication administration, and blood transfusions required
• Driver's license required for consideration
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• 2 professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsible for administering IV infusions, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy, in an outpatient setting
• Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility (in Maine or New Hampshire) are considered local and may be subject to a different pay rate
• Candidates must float between facilities within a 25-mile radius as needed
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
• Non-hospital-issued scrubs in any color are acceptable; hospital-issued scrubs are not permitted on unit
• Use of AirPods, laptops, and personal cell phones is prohibited while on the unit
• Strong communication, teamwork, reliability, flexibility, and a patient-centered care approach are highly valued for this role
