American Traveler is hiring a Certified Sterile Processing Supervisor RN for a hospital-based leadership role requiring Central Service Certification and a minimum of 3 years of related experience.

Details

• Hospital-based Sterile Processing department
• Supports the Operating Room, nursing units, specialty procedural areas, outpatient surgery, and clinic physicians
• Supervisory role overseeing surgical instrumentation reprocessing including collection, decontamination, assembly, sterilization, high-level disinfection, and distribution
• Evening shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM, Monday through Friday (schedule may flex slightly based on workload)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active Idaho (ID) or Compact RN license required
• Central Service Certification through the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) required
• Associate's Degree required; a relevant certification such as CHL or 2 years of related experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
• Minimum 3 years of related Sterile Processing experience required in addition to education requirement
• Familiarity with AAMI and AORN recommended practices and industry standards
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (documents and spreadsheets)
• Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs, maintain a standing position, reach above and below shoulder height, and perform stooping, crouching, or bending
• 2 references required for consideration: 1 from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 from a peer or supervisor in the position's specialty within the last 3 years

Additional Information

• Oversees department scheduling, staffing, and daily assignments, and writes or updates policies and procedures
• Collaborates with the department Manager on hiring, disciplining, and employee terminations
• Manages departmental budget, instrument repair and replacement processes, and oversees the instrument tracking system
• Performs audits, ensures QA documentation is complete, and assists with capital purchases
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• Continuing education and certification following hire is strongly encouraged
