American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a BMT (Bone Marrow Transplant) Case Manager role in an outpatient oncology clinic setting, requiring a valid CA RN license and at least 2 years of oncology experience.

Details

• Outpatient clinic setting within an Adult Stem Cell Transplant / BMT program
• Patient population includes leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and stem cell transplant diagnoses
• Case management responsibilities in collaboration with multiple departments including authorization and scheduling
• Responds to patient messages and care team communications via Epic pools
• Day shift schedule: 5x8-hour shifts, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Charting performed in Cerner (experience required)
• Epic experience preferred
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• Chemo certification (ONS/ONCC), OCN, or BMTCN preferred
• Minimum 2 years of oncology nursing experience required
• Outpatient oncology experience required
• BMT experience preferred
• Cerner EMR experience required
• At least one supervisory or director-level professional reference from the past year in a relevant specialty
• A second professional reference within the past 2 years (charge nurse, co-worker, or educator acceptable)

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include managing new patient referrals, coordinating appointments across departments, and responding to patient portal messages
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted
• No RTO (time off requests) will be approved within the first 2 weeks of the assignment; all RTO must be submitted at time of consideration and cannot be changed once submitted
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have been gone for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• A pass/fail EKG exam is required (up to 3 attempts permitted)
• No blocked scheduling or self-scheduling
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required for consideration
