Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiovascular OR Surgical Technologist (CVOR Tech) for a 13-week travel assignment requiring a VA RN license and at least 2 years of recent scrub experience in complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases.

Details

• Hospital-based Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) setting
• Complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical cases including Coronary Artery Bypass, Ascending Aortic Aneurysms, Valve Repair and Replacement, Structural Heart Procedures (TAVR, MitraClip), Thoracic Organ (Heart and Lung) Transplant, ECMO, Ventricular Assist Devices, redo, and emergent cases
• Adult patient population; pediatric scrub experience is a plus
• Daytime shift: 6:00 AM – 7:30 PM (13-hour shifts)
• 40 hours per week
• On-call required approximately 1–2 12-hour shifts Monday–Friday and 1–2 weekends per 6-week schedule
• Numerous active research protocols ongoing in the department
• Free on-site parking available

Requirements

• Active Virginia (VA) RN license required — no exceptions
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) credential and state registration required
• Minimum 2 years of recent scrub experience in complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery required
• Pediatric scrub experience preferred
• Strong multitasking and critical thinking skills required
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

Additional Information

• Coverage required for one summer holiday (Memorial Day, 4th of July, or Labor Day) and one winter holiday (Thanksgiving or Christmas) based on department need
• Any requested time off must be added to the end of the contract to ensure a full 13 working weeks
• Overtime may be required as needed
• Active participation in professional and departmental activities is expected
