American Traveler is hiring a travel LPN for a Medical-Surgical unit at a Magnet-recognized acute care teaching hospital in Rochester, NY, requiring an active NY LPN license and acute care experience within the last 2 years.

Details

• Medical-Surgical unit within a 528-bed acute care teaching hospital in Rochester, NY
• Complex care unit serving Medicine, ortho overflow, and complex long-term patients
• Patient ratio of 1:5–6, with LPN working own patient assignment under RN support
• 4x12-hour Day/Night rotation shifts; days run 0700–1900 and nights run 1900–0700
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required every other holiday, as needed
• Floating required within skillset
• Epic EMR experience required
• Clinical skills required include: blood product administration, central line care/management, peripheral line care/management, phlebotomy, PICC line management, and IV start/maintenance
• Respiratory skills required include: High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), nasal cannula, oxygen administration, oxygen tanks, and trach care/management
• Additional required skills include: feeding tube care/management, heparin protocols, pacemaker management (temporary and permanent), and telemetry monitoring on unit
• Experience with rapid response/code teams, isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac, MS/Tele, ortho trauma, total joint replacements, and surgical drains required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active New York single-state LPN license required at start of assignment (NY is not a Compact state); license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of LPN experience required
• Acute care experience within the last 2 years required
• Current BLS certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency with the clinical and procedural skills listed in the job details
• All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
• 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
