American Traveler is hiring a travel LPN/LVN with prior travel experience and an active AK license for a 26- or 13-week long-term care assignment with flexible 4x12 or 3x12 shift options.

Details

• Long-term care facility with 40 staffed beds
• LTC unit serving a patient population requiring skilled nursing care
• Patient ratio of 1:20
• Shift options include Days (0700–1930) or Nights (1900–0730); clinicians are not routinely rotated between day and night shifts, though exceptions may occur for urgent staffing needs
• Schedule is either 4x12 or 3x12 variable shifts — traveler's choice
• Assignment length is traveler's choice of 13 or 26 weeks
• Charting system: ECS
• Floating within scope to meet facility needs is required; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
• On-call is not required
• Free parking on-site
• A facility-arranged vehicle is provided for use around town (within a 30-mile radius of the facility) during the assignment

Requirements

• Active Alaska LPN/LVN license required at time of consideration — license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of LPN/LVN experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Long-term care (LTC) experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Valid driver's license and proof of personal vehicle insurance (including rental car coverage) required to operate the facility-provided vehicle
• Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• All caregivers must obtain the Alaska Food Worker Certification, which is completed during on-site orientation — a one-time $10 fee applies
• Any scrub color is acceptable
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• For a 26-week contract, no more than 2 weeks of RTO will be considered; all RTO must be submitted at time of consideration and will not be approved if requested after an offer is extended or a contract is signed
• Willingness to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) is required; availability for all holidays is preferred
• The facility-provided vehicle is for local use only (within 30 miles of the facility); it must be returned clean and with a full tank of gas, and is not available during any time off periods
