American Traveler is hiring a travel LVN/LPN with previous travel experience and an active Alaska license for a 26- or 13-week long-term care assignment.

Details

• Long-term care facility with 40 staffed beds
• LTC unit serving a long-term care patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:20
• Choice of 4x12 or 3x12 variable shifts; shifts are either days (0700–1930) or nights (1900–0730) based on facility needs at time of start — rotation between day and night is not typically required
• Float requirement: all travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment
• Charting system: ECS
• No on-call requirement
• Contract length: traveler's choice of 26 or 13 weeks
• Block scheduling is not available

Requirements

• Active Alaska LPN/LVN license required at time of consideration — no pending licenses accepted
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Minimum 1 year of LTC experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Valid driver's license and proof of personal vehicle insurance (including rental car coverage) required prior to operating a facility-provided vehicle
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• All travelers must obtain the Alaska Food Worker Certification, which is completed during on-site orientation; a one-time $10 fee applies

• The facility will arrange a vehicle for the traveler's use while on assignment, available for travel within a 30-mile radius of the facility; vehicle must be returned during any time off and is for the traveler's use only
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• RTO is limited to no more than 2 weeks for a 26-week contract; all RTO must be submitted with the initial profile and will not be considered after an offer is made or a contract is signed
• Willingness to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) is required; preference is for full holiday availability
