American Traveler is hiring a travel LPN/LVN with previous travel experience and an active Alaska license for a Long-Term Care assignment offering flexible 13- or 26-week contracts and traveler's choice of shift.

Details

• Long-Term Care (LTC) facility with 40 staffed beds
• Patient ratio of 1:20
• Charting is performed using ECS
• Choice of 4x12 or 3x12 variable shift schedule; shift assignment (days or nights) is based on facility needs at time of start — rotation between day and night shifts is not typically required
• Day shift hours: 0700–1930; Night shift hours: 1900–0730
• On-call is not required
• Floating between all facilities within the state is expected; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
• Contract length is traveler's choice: 13 or 26 weeks
• Free parking on-site
• A facility-arranged vehicle is provided for use within a 30-mile radius of the facility for the duration of the assignment

Requirements

• Active Alaska LPN/LVN license required at time of consideration — license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of LTC experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Current BLS certification required
• Alaska Food Worker Certification required (obtained during on-site orientation; a one-time $10 fee applies)
• Valid driver's license and proof of personal vehicle insurance including rental car coverage required to operate the facility-provided vehicle
• Candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
• Minimum 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Scrubs of any color are acceptable
• For 26-week contracts, no more than 2 weeks of RTO will be considered; all RTO must be submitted at time of profile submission and will not be accepted after an offer is made or contract is signed
• Willingness to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) is required; full holiday availability is preferred
• A facility-arranged vehicle (facility-owned or rental) is available for use starting no earlier than 72 hours before the contract begins and must be returned no later than 24 hours after the contract ends; the vehicle must be returned clean and with a full tank of gas
• Only the traveler is authorized to operate the facility-provided vehicle; tire chains are available at an additional cost to the traveler
• If the traveler has time off during the contract, the vehicle must be returned and will be reissued upon return
