American Traveler is hiring a travel LVN/LPN with previous travel experience and an active AK license for a long-term care assignment with flexible 12-hour shift scheduling.

Details

• Long-term care facility with 40 staffed beds
• LTC unit with a patient ratio of 1:20
• Scheduled for 4x12-hour shifts (variable days or nights); shift assignment is based on facility needs at time of start — caregivers are not routinely asked to rotate between day and night shifts, though occasional exceptions may occur for urgent staffing needs
• Day shift hours: 0700–1930; Night shift hours: 1900–0730
• Assignment length is traveler's choice: 13 or 26 weeks
• Charting is performed in ECS
• May be required to float between facilities within the state to meet needs — refusal to float may result in termination of assignment
• On-call is not required
• Block scheduling is not available
• Free parking on-site

Requirements

• Active Alaska LPN/LVN license required at time of consideration — no pending licenses accepted
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Minimum 1 year of LTC experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• Former permanent staff of this facility must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
• Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Valid driver's license and proof of personal vehicle insurance (including rental car coverage) required to operate the facility-provided vehicle

Additional Information

• All caregivers are required to obtain the Alaska Food Worker Certification, which is completed during on-site orientation — this does not need to be obtained prior to the start date; there is a one-time $10 fee for this certification
• The facility will arrange a vehicle for the traveler's use during the assignment for local transportation within a 30-mile radius — the vehicle is not to be taken off-road or outside that radius
• Only the traveler is authorized to operate the facility-provided vehicle; the vehicle must be returned clean and with a full tank of gas
• If the traveler takes time off during the contract, the vehicle must be returned and will be reissued upon return
• Scrubs of any color are acceptable
• For a 26-week contract, no more than 2 weeks of RTO will be considered; traveler must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) — all RTO must be submitted at time of consideration and will not be accepted after an offer is extended or a contract is signed
