American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown/Med-Surg position at an acute care facility in West Virginia, requiring at least 3 years of experience and stepdown-specific skills including drip titration.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting in a combined Stepdown/Med-Surg unit with 20 beds
• Common patient diagnoses include respiratory issues, weakness, UTI, AKI, and chest pain
• Stepdown nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3; Med-Surg floor ratio is 1:5-6, with 2 nursing aides per shift
• RNs are required to titrate drips, including Heparin, insulin, Cardizem, and amiodarone
• Telemetry is monitored remotely
• Respiratory therapy equipment on unit includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
• Charting is performed in Epic
• 12-hour day shifts
• 3 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
• Holiday rotation required (day or evening)
• No on-call or standby requirement
• No floating required

Requirements

• Active WV or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
• Stepdown experience required
• Epic EMR experience
• Valid, unexpired driver's license required for consideration

• Royal blue scrubs required
• Unit-specific orientation is provided
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Travelers who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before being considered
• Travelers may not work within the WVU system for longer than one cumulative year before a 2-year break is required
