Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Resource Pool (Float Pool) position at a Level 1 trauma academic medical center in West Virginia, covering Med/Surg, Stepdown, Tele, Neuro, Ortho, Oncology, and Surgical units on weekend nights.

Details

• Float pool position covering all Med/Surg, Stepdown, and Telemetry units within a large acute care Level 1 trauma hospital
• Units include Med/Surg, Stepdown, Neuro Stepdown, Epilepsy Monitoring (EMU), Trauma & General Surgery, Orthopedic/Neuro, Surgical Oncology, Medical Oncology, and a Long-Term Antibiotic Infusion unit
• Patient ratios are 1:3 on Stepdown units and 1:6 on Med/Surg and Telemetry units
• Each unit has up to 34 beds
• Charting system: Epic (experience required)
• Schedule: 4x12-hour night shifts per week on weekends (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active WV RN license or compact RN license required
• Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Must be well-rounded and clinically strong across Stepdown, Neuro, Ortho, Trauma, General Medicine, and Oncology
• Epic EMR experience required
• Level 1 trauma experience preferred
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• BSN not required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Two supervisor/peer references required for consideration, including one supervisor reference from any permanent position held in the last 12 months
• Driver's license and copies of certifications required for consideration
• Skills checklist completed within the past year required for consideration

Additional Information

• Royal blue scrubs required
• Candidates who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a minimum 2-year break before being eligible to apply
• Travel assignments within the WVU system are limited to a cumulative total of one year; once that threshold is reached, a 2-year break is required before returning
• Candidates may only be submitted to one WVU facility at a time
