American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care/Cardiovascular Unit position requiring active KY or compact RN licensure and cardiac care experience.

Details

• Work in a Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) providing intermediate care for cardiac surgery patients from pre-op through discharge
• Care for pre/post-cardiac intervention patients including PTCA, cardioversion, generator implants, and TAVR
• Unit also supports patients with atypical chest pain requiring monitoring
• Night shift schedule, 7p-7a, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Weekend and holiday coverage required per unit needs
• 36 hours per week, 0.9 FTE

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in KY or compact license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum two years of nursing experience required
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Cardiac/cardiovascular nursing experience required

Additional Information

• Implement professional nursing practice centered on patient-centered, holistic care and evidence-based practice
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop prioritized care plans, and implement treatments within RN scope of practice
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities, including patient and family education
• Coordinate care with the interprofessional team and delegate tasks appropriately to other team members
• Communicate changes in patient condition promptly and document care according to hospital policy
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities, including monitoring for patient falls, pressure ulcers, and CAUTIs
• Contribute to a positive, healing environment through collaboration and effective communication with patients, families, and staff
