American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Center position requiring 5+ years of ED experience, at least one prior travel assignment, and MEDITECH proficiency.

Details

• Acute care hospital Emergency Center (ER) setting
• Patient population spans pediatrics to geriatrics, including trauma, neuro, ortho, CVA, and behavioral health cases
• Facility sees approximately 180–200 patient visits per day and is a designated CVA center
• 6-bed behavioral health lockdown area staffed by psych is part of the unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
• Evening shift, 12-hour shifts (1p–1a)
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• Nurses are responsible for their own lab draws and IV starts
• Respiratory therapy is available 24/7 and dedicated to the ED
• Pharmacy is in-department 11 hours per day and on campus 24/7
• Central monitoring tech available for telemetry oversight
• Nurse aides and paramedics (5–6 per shift) and security/safety sitters are present on shift
• Vented patients may be held in the ED until admitted
• EMR: MEDITECH 6.15 (experience required)

Requirements

• Active GA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS (or ASLS), and CPI
• Minimum 5 years of Emergency Department RN experience required
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required
• MEDITECH EMR experience required
• BSN not required
• Driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• 17-week assignment
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for placement
• Candidates who have been employed by the facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Floor-specific orientation consists of 2 shifts and must be completed during the first week of the assignment
• Caribbean Blue scrubs required
• Time-off requests are honored only if submitted and confirmed at the start of the assignment
• Charge nurses are present on the unit
