American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Perioperative Care/Pre-Surgery position in Austin, TX, requiring a minimum of 3 years of recent perioperative RN experience in a high-volume hospital setting.

Details

• Work in a 72-bed Perioperative Care Unit supporting preoperative preparation and phase 2 recovery/discharge planning for outpatients
• Patient population includes ambulatory surgical and invasive procedure patients as well as complex cardiovascular, orthopedic, spine, and robotic surgery cases
• Unit serves an average of 70–90 patients daily on weekdays
• Procedures supported span the OR, cath lab, radiology, and endoscopy departments
• Schedule is Monday through Friday, day shift only (5:00 AM – 1:30 PM)
• No call, weekend, or holiday responsibilities

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or a Compact RN license currently in hand
• BLS certification required (AHA-issued)
• Minimum 3 years of recent, full-time experience as a Perioperative Care RN in a high-volume hospital setting
• Demonstrated proficiency in preoperative and postoperative phases of patient care per ASPAN standards
• Ability to function independently in a fast-paced surgical environment with minimal onboarding
• Verifiable references from previous perioperative RN experience required
• Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Full SSN and full date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include preparing patients for surgical and procedural areas (OR, cath lab, endoscopy, special procedures) and ensuring effective discharge planning for outpatients
• Candidates with less than the required experience or who require extensive onboarding will not be considered
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start; any disciplinary actions require completion of a FACIS Questionnaire
• Local candidates may be considered, though travel pay eligibility may be affected depending on proximity to the facility
• COVID vaccination is not required
