American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ICU position in Elizabethtown, KY, requiring BLS and ACLS certifications with experience caring for critically ill patients including those on mechanical ventilation and continuous dialysis.

Details

• 20-bed medical ICU setting providing direct patient care
• Patient population includes cardiac arrest, sepsis, mechanical ventilation, stroke, post-surgical, continuous dialysis, and bedside invasive procedures
• Goal nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1
• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky or a compact state
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• Candidate must provide MM/DD of date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessment, individualized care planning, patient and family education, and facilitating admission, transfer, and discharge activities
• Delegates tasks to and oversees other team members in the delivery of patient care
• Actively participates in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI reduction
• Nursing practice is evidence-based and centered on holistic, patient- and family-centered care
