American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ICU position in Elizabethtown, KY, requiring BLS and ACLS certifications and experience with critically ill patients including mechanical ventilation and continuous dialysis.

Details

• 20-bed medical ICU in a hospital setting providing direct patient care
• Patient population includes cardiac arrest, sepsis, mechanical ventilation, stroke, post-surgical, continuous dialysis, and bedside invasive procedures
• Goal nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts (7a–7p), 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
• Weekend and holiday rotation required

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in KY or a compact state currently in hand
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• Previous nursing experience preferred
• Candidate must provide date of birth (MM/DD) and last 4 digits of SSN for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, implementing therapies and procedures, patient and family education, and facilitating discharge coordination
• Nursing practice is evidence-based and incorporates all four phases of the nursing process with an emphasis on critical thinking and holistic, patient-centered care
• Participates in unit quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI reduction
• Collaborates with an inter-professional care team including case management and other disciplines
