American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department position on night shift, requiring a MO or compact RN license and at least 1 year of ED experience in a Level 1 or 2 trauma facility.

Details

• 68-bed Emergency Department at a Level 1 Trauma, STEMI, Stroke, and regional burn center in Springfield, MO
• High-volume urban trauma center seeing 200+ patients per day with high-acuity cases including trauma and pediatrics
• Night shift: 19:00–07:00
• 13-week contract
• Routine patient ratio of 4:1, though surge and other circumstances may alter this
• Epic EMR
• No float requirements
• No on-call requirements
• Weekends required as determined by facility scheduling needs
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated

Requirements

• Active RN license — must be eligible for or currently hold a Missouri RN license (MO or Compact)
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS (all from AHA only), and TNCC required
• NIHSS certification required prior to start date
• Minimum 1 year of ED experience in a Level 1 trauma facility, OR minimum 2 years of ED experience in a Level 2 trauma facility — experience level must be reflected on resume
• Valid U.S. Social Security Number required
• No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift and push patients on stretchers and in wheelchairs, and push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs

Additional Information

• Provides direct patient care for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
• Coordinates patient care activities with ancillary and other hospital departments to optimize patient outcomes
• Night shift orientation takes place on day shift — candidate must be available for the entire orientation week
• Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption is required for assignments running November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
• RTO of up to 5 days is allowed but must be made up during the assignment; no RTO approved during the first week of the assignment
• Only 1 holiday RTO request allowed per assignment
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but will be offered a reduced bill rate
• Black scrubs required; jeans and unprofessional attire are not permitted
• Trauma and pediatrics experience, as well as experience in high-volume (200+ patients/day) environments, is preferred
