American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Pediatric PACU position in Oklahoma City, requiring Level 1 trauma experience and current PALS certification.

Details

• Pediatric Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) setting within a hospital environment
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)
• 13-week contract
• Level 1 trauma experience required

Requirements

• Active OK RN license or current multistate compact (eNLC) RN license required
• Certifications required (all from the American Heart Association): BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum of 1 year of PACU nursing experience
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Proficiency in organizing, planning, and evaluating nursing care
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
• Basic computer skills required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include monitoring physiological data, administering medications, managing IV infusions and blood products, and assisting physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Responsible for documenting patient responses to nursing interventions and changes in physician orders
• Educates patients and families on care plans and hospital procedures, and delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period after completing 26 weeks (one contract + one extension) before being eligible for a new contract
• Compliance requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) must be initiated immediately upon offer acceptance — the facility does not negotiate start dates for non-compliant travelers
• BSN is preferred but not required
