American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Surgical float position requiring Level 1 Trauma experience and the ability to float across all pediatric acute care units on night shift.

Details

• Hospital-based Pediatric Surgical unit
• Float position covering all pediatric acute care units, including surgical, behavioral health, medical specialty (GI, neuro, respiratory), hematology/oncology, step-down, and cardiac peds
• May float to NICU for feeder/grower (low acuity) patients only — not traditional high-acuity NICU care
• Patient population includes pediatric surgical and acute care patients across a range of specialties
• Night shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (18:45–07:15)
• 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
• Weekend and holiday coverage required
• Float position — travelers are first in line for floating assignments

Requirements

• Active OK RN license or a current multistate compact (eNLC) RN license required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Current PALS certification from the AHA required
• All certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Experience with trach care, high-flow oxygen therapy, and IV infusion required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include managing an assigned patient group, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and documenting patient responses to nursing interventions
• Collaborates with physicians during patient exams and minor diagnostic procedures, and coordinates care with patients, families, and support staff
• Serves as first responder for skills calls across the pediatric units when floating
• BSN from a board-approved program is preferred
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a new contract (a single extension up to 26 total weeks is permitted)
