American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Nurse Manager for a Sub-Regional Clinic position in remote Alaska, requiring a BSN and active Alaska RN license with a minimum of 5 years of progressive nursing management experience.

Details

• Sub-Regional Clinic setting located in a remote area of Alaska (Hooper Bay or Emmonak, AK)
• General Practice / RN Unit Manager role focused on daily clinic operations and patient flow coordination
• Serves as liaison between the main Bethel departments and the Sub-Regional Clinic, including responsibility for staffing
• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM schedule (specific shift details to be discussed with manager)
• 26-week contract

Requirements

• Active Alaska RN license in good standing required
• Current BLS certification required
• BSN required; MSN or Master's degree in a healthcare-related field preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive nursing management experience required; 3 years of clinical nursing experience preferred
• Proficiency with office machines and computers standard to a medical outpatient clinic environment
• Knowledge of regulatory agency standards related to healthcare organizations
• Ability to manage care across the continuum of care and work independently within prescribed limits
• Flexible scheduling ability required
• DOB and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Manages daily operations of the Sub-Regional Clinic, assuring coordinated patient flow, accurate medical records, optimized reimbursement documentation, and effective clinic management
• Orientation is held on Tuesday and Wednesday
• Nurses must arrive with documentation of the following competencies: IV/Central Line Site Care, Fall Precautions, Age-Specific Competencies, Abuse/Neglect, Pain Management, Restraints and Seclusion, Blood Transfusions, and current BLS
• A medication calculation math test (adult and pediatric) is administered upon arrival and before beginning floor work
• Hospital housing is provided in a remote area — shared units with shared common spaces and private bedrooms; male or female units only; no dogs allowed; travelers coordinate directly with the facility
• The facility will reimburse economy-level flights to and from the assignment; a detailed flight and luggage receipt must be submitted for reimbursement
• Flight itinerary must be provided at least one week before the start date; the facility will assist with airport pickup upon arrival but does not provide return airport transportation
