American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg unit offering 4x12 day shifts with telemetry experience required and first-time travelers welcome.

Details

• 34-bed Medical Surgical unit in a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Patient ratios are typically 1:6, with potential flex to 1:7 during unplanned staffing shortages
• Every other weekend required
• PRN on-call required for low census situations
• Floating within scope to like units or sister facilities may be required
• Charting via Epic (experience required)
• Free parking available on-site

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered, but must have an active license prior to start
• Certifications required: BLS (AHA only)
• Certifications preferred: ACLS and NIHSS (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
• Proficiency with telemetry monitoring, insulin management, and rapid response protocols required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; non-local candidates are prioritized
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront; approval is based on facility needs
• Orientation modules are completed prior to the assignment start date
• Scrub color required: Royal Blue
• Travelers should be aware that this facility is located in a hurricane-affected region; during hurricane season (June–November), all staff and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties — peak activity months are August and September
