American Traveler is hiring a Surgical Services Pediatric CVOR Tech for a pediatric cardiovascular OR setting, requiring NBSTSA certification and at least 1 year of relevant surgical tech experience.

Details

• Pediatric cardiovascular OR (CVOR) setting within a children's hospital
• Surgical cases include OB procedures (C-section, D&C, D&E, tubal ligation, cerclage) as well as high-risk non-OB cases (accreta/cyst, laparoscopic ectopic, cystoscopy)
• Average daily surgical case volume of 6
• Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
• On-call required
• Blocked scheduling available
• No floating requirements within the unit
• Cerner charting experience required

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN/Surgical Tech license required
• NBSTSA certification must be in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required (AHA or RQI accepted, must be current)
• Minimum 1 year of relevant surgical tech experience required
• L&D experience, sterilization, scrubbing, high-level disinfection (HLD), and aseptic technique required
• Decontamination, crash cart, and scope/probe reprocessing experience preferred
• Cerner EMR experience required
• 2 supervisor references required
• SSN and DOB required
• Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited program required

• Candidates who are current or former permanent/PRN employees of IU Health must have been away for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health are required to take a consecutive break to reset eligibility: out-of-state residents require a 90-day break; in-state residents require a 180-day break
• Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved
