American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Orthopedic/Med-Surg inpatient unit in Urbana, IL, requiring Epic EMR experience and Level 1 Trauma background.

Details

• Inpatient orthopedic and medical-surgical unit at an acute care hospital
• Cares for orthopedic and general medical-surgical patient populations
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3 days per week (36 hours/week), 12-hour shifts
• No on-call requirements
• 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week period
• Every-other holiday coverage required
• Floating to similar units required
• Epic EMR used; experience required

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing required (temporary license accepted)
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• ASN required; BSN preferred
• Experience with orthopedic nursing, wound care, traction setup, and surgical traction device management

Additional Information

• Assesses orthopedic and med-surg patients each shift and develops individualized plans of care
• Educates patients on wound care, mobility, self-care, medication management, and care transition needs
• Sets up orthopedic traction and manipulates surgical traction devices for mobility and wound care
• Manages wound appliances including wound vacs, drains, pouches, and urological devices
• Coordinates with physician and surgeon partners on patient care
• Delegates and monitors interventions performed by healthcare team (HCT) staff
• May be required to complete annual education for DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Program compliance
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• RTO is not to exceed 7 days for the duration of the 13-week contract
• Contingent workers may not remain on continuous assignment at this health system for more than 1 year; a 6-month break in service is required before returning to any location within the health system
