Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ED RN for a night shift travel contract requiring strong Med/Surg or PCU background and an active NH or Compact RN license in hand at time of consideration.

Details

• Emergency Department (ED) position at an acute care hospital
• Handles boarder assignments within the ED setting
• Patient population includes medical/surgical, PCU, and behavioral health patients
• 12-hour night shifts, 7p–7a, three shifts per week
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required to stepdown, med/surg units, and potentially the Behavioral Health Annex (training provided)
• Cerner EMR experience preferred but not required

Requirements

• Active NH or Compact RN license currently in hand — temporary licenses are not accepted
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Preferred certifications: TNCC, PALS, CCRN
• Minimum 2–3 years of ED experience required; candidates closer to 2 years must demonstrate strong, well-rounded, independent practice
• Strong Med/Surg or PCU background required
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Driver's license with address matching profile demographics required

Additional Information

• Must be able to orient to and work in the Behavioral Health Annex as needed (training is provided)
• Weekly orientation provided
• 3 professional references required upon accepting an offer — 2 must be from leadership (manager or charge RN; no peers or coworkers)
• Former permanent staff may return as a traveler after a minimum 12-month break in service
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are accepted at a local pay rate
