American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN - NICU for a 13-week travel assignment in Northern Nevada, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Level 3 NICU experience and the ability to manage vents, oscillators, and micro preemies.

Details

• Night shift position: 18:45–07:15, three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hrs/week)
• Level 3 NICU setting within a hospital environment
• Neonatal patient population ranging from 23 weeks gestation to 4 months of age
• Patients are primarily admitted from labor and delivery, including high-risk and emergency deliveries
• Conditions treated include extreme prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, hypoglycemia, congenital anomalies, seizures, and meconium aspiration syndrome
• Services provided include noninvasive nasal CPAP, mechanical ventilation, High Frequency Oscillation, and nitric oxide inhalation therapy

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted NV RN license required (no pending licenses accepted)
• Current certifications required: BLS (AHA only), NRP, and STABLE
• Minimum 2 years of NICU Level 3 experience in a U.S. hospital required (3+ years preferred)
• Proficiency with ventilators, oscillators, vasopressors, and care of micro preemies required
• Valid U.S. SSN required
• Date of birth required for consideration
• Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the previous 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer

Additional Information

• Nurses respond to neonatal emergencies, attend all C-sections and high-risk deliveries, and provide assessment and immediate care to newborns post-delivery
• Bedside procedures include peripheral IV insertion, septic workups, intubations, percutaneous catheter insertions, parenteral therapy, blood product administration, bronchopulmonary hygiene, medication administration, and vital sign monitoring
• Parent teaching is a component of the nursing role on this unit
• Most diagnostic services are provided at the bedside
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel position
• CPI certification is mandated for this position
