American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Pediatrics Float Pool position in Oklahoma City, OK, requiring at least 1 year of RN experience, Level 1 Trauma experience, and the ability to float across multiple pediatric specialty units.

Details

• Hospital-based pediatrics float pool position
• Float pool covers a wide range of pediatric units including a 34-bed PICU, 25-bed CICU, 112-bed NICU (feeder grower/low acuity patients only), surgical, behavioral health, med specialty (GI, neuro, respiratory), hem/onc, step-down, and cardiac peds
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week)
• Weekend and holiday coverage required
• Float pool RN is first-line for skills across children's units
• Experience with trach care, high-flow oxygen, and infusion required for this float role
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active OK RN license or eNLC compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS and PALS certifications issued by the American Heart Association (AHA only)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Experience with trach, high-flow oxygen, and infusion therapy required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (no local candidates)

Additional Information

• Provides nursing care to pediatric patients with health conditions ranging from simple to complex across multiple specialty units
• Responsible for monitoring physiological data, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and assisting physicians with exams and minor diagnostic procedures
• Engages patients and families in care planning throughout the hospital stay and at discharge
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• BSN is preferred but not required
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period after 26 total weeks before being eligible for a new contract
• Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screen, background check, medical requirements) must begin immediately upon acceptance of an offer — compliance deadlines are strictly enforced
