American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a Float Pool position at a Level 1 trauma academic medical center, specializing in thoracic/vascular cases with a minimum of 2 years OR experience and prior travel experience required.

Details

• Large academic medical center OR with 56 surgical suites (inpatient and outpatient) and 5 procedural rooms, designated as a Level 1 trauma center
• Assigned to the Thoracic/Vascular Team within the OR Float Pool
• Adult patient population only; no pediatric cases (Children's Hospital OR is a separate facility)
• Case types include neuro, trauma, general, ortho, GYN, urology, ENT, plastics, cardiothoracic, vascular, transplant (liver, renal, pancreas), robotic, hybrid rooms (cysto, bronch, and lead extraction), ambulatory ortho, burn, and hepatic-biliary
• Patient diagnoses include transplant and trauma/neuro cases
• 12-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, approximately 9am–9pm (daily schedule varies based on unit need; block scheduling is not available)
• Late stays required based on unit need
• Floating within the OR department possible, but not between facility locations
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active TN RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification on file at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Thoracic/vascular OR experience required
• Proficiency in endovascular cases required for the thoracic/vascular team
• Must be able to both circulate and scrub; scrub experience is required
• All required certifications must be current and on file at time of consideration
