American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Pre-Op Holding / ASU position in Wichita, KS, requiring at least 2 years of experience and Phase 2 recovery skills.

Details

• Pre-Op Holding and Ambulatory Surgery Unit (ASU) setting within a hospital
• Unit consists of 9 Pre-Op beds and 5 Phase 2 recovery beds
• Patient population includes Urology, GYN, and other same-day surgery (SDS) patients, as well as Endo, cath lab, EP, CT, outpatient infusion, and outpatient EKG patients
• Patient ratio is 1:3
• Procedures include Phase 2 recoveries, pre-op preparation, blocks, blood transfusions, and outpatient EKGs
• Equipment used includes Pyxis, GE MACVU EKG machine, Doppler, patient scale, and bladder scanner
• EMR: Meditech
• Day shift only: 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license in Kansas or a compact state license currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in Pre-Op or a related specialty
• Phase 2 recovery experience required
• Pre-Op experience preferred
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include Phase 2 recovery of surgical patients and supporting pre-op preparation across multiple service lines
• On-call responsibilities require a 30-minute response time from the facility
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
