American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical/Surgical unit with remote telemetry experience, requiring Epic proficiency and a GA or compact RN license for a night shift assignment.

Details

• Hospital-based Medical/Surgical unit with remote telemetry monitoring
• Patient population includes adults through geriatrics with diagnoses including diabetes, post-op, wound vac management, and bariatrics
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6 on a 33-bed unit with an average daily census of 28
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
• No on-call requirements
• EMR: Epic (required); also uses Pyxis and SBAR communication framework
• Local candidates are accepted

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required
• Charge nurse experience required
• Epic proficiency required

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Navy blue scrubs required
• RTO maximum of 7 days for the assignment; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• RTO blackout dates apply: April 4–12 (Spring Break)
• Holiday coverage policy: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers must work two and may request one holiday off for approval
• Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counted as one), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counted as one), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counted as one)
• No alternate shift or schedule change requests are permitted — the posted night shift is firm
• Candidates must have been away from all Piedmont facilities for at least one full year to be eligible to return as a traveler
• Two supervisory references (manager level or above) are highly preferred; charge nurse references are not accepted
• Two supervisory references from manager level or above are strongly preferred
