American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Illinois, requiring at least 1 year of ER experience and ACLS certification.

Details

• Work setting is an acute care Magnet-designated hospital with 97 staffed beds
• Emergency Department (ER) with a 1:3 patient ratio
• High-acuity patient population; must be willing to work fast-track and triage areas
• Night shift schedule: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (3x12-hour shifts)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required between two campus locations (Belleville and Shiloh) as needed; may also float to inpatient units during slow periods
• No on-call requirements
• Charting via Epic (experience required)
• Block scheduling is not available
• Free parking on-site

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required; MO state license also required at time of consideration
• Pending IL license may be acceptable — please note this when applying
• Current ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required; PALS and TNCC preferred
• Minimum 1 year of ER nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Strong teamwork, customer service, and communication skills
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
• Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers may remain at BJC facilities for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
• Holiday coverage expectations follow standard facility scheduling
