American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a telemetry Med/Surg unit specializing in post-op cardiac surgery and complex cardiac patients, with night shift and weekend requirements.

Details

• Hospital-based telemetry unit with 20 beds
• Specialty focus on post-op CABG, post-op cardiac surgery, CHF, and moderate-risk chest pain patients with multiple comorbidities and complex care needs
• Patient population is transferred from the ICU, ED, and PACU
• Night shift: 7p–7a, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Weekend coverage required
• Holiday coverage required

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky or a compact state
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• Prior nursing experience preferred, but not required
• Candidate must provide MM/DD of date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN for consideration

Additional Information

• Deliver patient- and family-centered nursing care using all phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and evidence-based practice
• Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, patient and family education, and facilitating admission, transfer, and discharge activities
• Collaborates with an inter-professional care team to coordinate individualized treatment plans
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI reduction
